Pastor Ronnie was born and raised in East Tennessee and has loved the local church for as long as he can remember. He began in music ministry at the age of 8 before becoming a worship leader and preacher around age 21. He earned his Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, graduating in 2024. In July 2023, God led Ronnie and his family to Riverdale, where he now serves as pastor of First Baptist Church of Riverdale.
Ronnie is passionate about preaching the Bible clearly and faithfully, helping people grow in their understanding of Scripture, and seeing the church strengthened and equipped for the work of the ministry. He loves theology, church history, and teaching in ways that are both accessible and deeply rooted in God’s Word.
Ronnie married his wife, Geneva, in 2009, and they have one son, Emmitt, born in 2013. Geneva serves as Director of Operations at The Southside Baptist Network. They homeschool Emmitt, who loves music, video games, and anime. They make their home in Riverdale along with their Boston Terrier, Kizzy. Outside of ministry, Ronnie enjoys playing music, reading, strength training, and spending time with his family.
Kaylin was a volunteer with our children’s ministry for 2.5 years before coming on staff as the Director of Family Ministries in December 2022. She has been married to Stephen since January 2016, and they have two precious daughters named Noah and Micah. At a young age Kaylin knew that she was called to spend her life in ministry. Kaylin attended North Greenville University while playing on the women's soccer team. In her free time she likes to exercise, take walks with Noah and their dog Moose, camp, and hang out with friends. Most of her time is spent doing what she loves: being a mom and a homemaker.
Interesting fact: Kaylin is married to Pastor Stephen and they met when they were young teenagers.
Our deacons are men who exemplify the standards referenced in 1 Timothy 3:8-13. They are men of integrity who endeavor to grow in their relationship with Christ, serve the members of First Baptist Riverdale, and reach the lost with the Gospel.
