Preschoolers and elementary school-aged children are invited every Sunday for Sunday School at 9:45 am. During the 11 am worship service a nursery is provided for preschoolers, while children in grades K-5 are invited to attend the Morning Worship Service in the Sanctuary. During that service, they will experience a “Children’s Sermon” with a message just for them. During the summer things really “heat up” for children at First Baptist Riverdale with a great week of Vacation Bible School and Day Camp.

The members and friends of First Baptist Riverdale express their love for God by being involved in many local and national mission projects. Perhaps the most important is the church’s Emergency Food Pantry Ministry designed to help the people of Riverdale who are in need of food. Riverdale residents may receive assistance once every four months. Other mission projects have included collections such as school supplies for local children, coats for a mission center in Kentucky, and teddy bears for the Riverdale Fire Department. First Baptist Riverdale is a Partner in Education with Riverdale Elementary School and supports Calvary Refuge Shelter in Forest Park. Once a month Baptist Men on Mission and Women's Missionary Union meet to plan new mission projects and study the progress of missions around the world.

Here at First Baptist Riverdale we enjoy a mixture of traditional hymns, praise and worship songs, gospel and global Christian music. Our Sanctuary Choir leads the Sunday morning worship service. The choir is open to any adult or teenager who wants to glorify God through singing His praises. At various times during the year, the members and friends of First Baptist Riverdale glorify God via sign language, sacred dance, solos, duets and other small groups.

Senior adults play an important part in the life of the First Baptist Riverdale. Seniors are active in every part of the church’s ministries, from Sunday School to the missions organizations. Our “Seniors Only” group, the LLL Club (Living Long and Loving It!) meets the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am, excluding June and July.

The Youth Group meets for Bible Study on Sunday mornings at 9:45 am. They also enjoy other activities through the year. Activities include overnight lock-ins, attending Christian concerts, whitewater rafting, fishing, local mission projects, and a youth retreat in the summer.
